Lake Norman State Park, originally Duke Power State Park, is a 1,942-acre state park in North Carolina, located near Troutman in Iredell County. The park is located at the mouth of Hicks Creek on Lake Norman's northern coast.

The Visitor Center, bathrooms, Lake Shore Trail, and the majority of reservable amenities are all open right now. The bike trails are open when the weather permits. The group camp sites are locked until May 31st for the season.

The species had never been found in Lake Norman or the Catawba River. Reports of alligators in Lake Norman began to circulate in late 2000. A video of a 5-6′ alligator in Lake Norman was leaked to the local news later that year. In the lake, two different alligators were sighted.
